Red Dry Lake

Mohave, AZ

In 2008 my friend Maria Haas and I went to Gold Basin. When we were on the way out we stopped by Red Dry Lake for a few hours. We didn’t have long because I had to catch a plane in Phoenix later that day. I went into to the dunes on the East end of the lake, and was practically running as time was getting short. Several times Maria yelled at me from the vehicle to “hurry up, let’s go!” I’d yell back “just a couple more minutes!” Then it happened, I ran up on this rusty rock just setting there in the sand, then I did the happy dance!
